On the Golden Circle & Blue Lagoon Tour you will discover some of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders, combined with a relaxing ending at the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Departing from Reykjavík in a comfortable, small group, you will travel through a landscape full of volcanic phenomena, waterfalls and geothermal activity.
The first stop is the impressive Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you literally walk between two continents. Here, the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly separating, creating unique rifts and cracks in the landscape. This park is also historically significant, as it was here that Iceland’s first parliament was founded in 930.
Next, you’ll visit the geothermal area of Geysir, where you’ll see the powerful Strokkur Geyser shoot boiling water tens of meters into the air every few minutes. The bubbling hot springs and steaming fields let you experience the primal power of nature up close.
Then you come face to face with the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. Feel the spray on your face as the meltwater from the Langjökull glacier cascades down two stages into a deep gorge. Depending on the season, Gullfoss is surrounded by snow and ice or with a colorful rainbow above the cascading water.
After a morning full of natural violence, it is time to completely relax in the Blue Lagoon. You immerse yourself in the warm, mineral-rich water, while enjoying the volcanic landscape around you. You will receive a silica mud mask and can get a drink at the lagoon bar, while the geothermal water softens your skin.
The Golden Circle & Blue Lagoon tour offers a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, experiencing the untouched beauty of Iceland and ending with pure luxury in the Blue Lagoon. An unforgettable day full of nature, history and wellness.

You will be picked up at the chosen pick-up location. Please note that there may be delays as people are picked up at different locations and traffic can cause delays.
Thingvellir National Park is a site of both geological and cultural significance and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
Thingvellir is home to the exposed part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the divergent rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, meaning you are between two continents, here, in Iceland. The Öxarárfoss waterfall cuts through the ridge with a stunning 13-metre (42.65 ft) drop, which you will visit as you walk along the trail.
The world's first parliament was established in Iceland, here in Thingvellir, in 930 AD. From Hakið lookout, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the entire area. Þingvellir Church, consecrated in 1859, boasts a simple, elegant appearance that adds a historical and cultural touch to the natural landscape. Nearby is Almannagjá Gorge, with its clear glacial water flowing deep within the lava walls. The water originates from Iceland's second-largest glacier, Langjökull, which has broken through the porous lava fields below.
Your driver/guide will pick you up further down the Rift Valley.
An active geothermal area, the Geysir area has many fascinating features to see. Steam vents, bubbling pits, warm pools, with different colors, and the biggest highlight of the area, the Strokkur geyser which erupts every 5-10 minutes up to 20 meters (65.62 ft) high in the air, a real spectacle of nature. And the Great Geysir is a calm, blue depth of water nearby. A visitor center is right next to the area with shops and several lunch options.
Safety is important, so a reminder to visitors to walk alone along the trail as the steaming pits and hissing water boil beneath your feet at extremely high temperatures.
Gullfoss Waterfall, also known as the “Golden Falls”, is a beautiful, wide waterfall that plunges 11 metres (36 ft), then 21 metres (68 ft), roaring down into the depths of the canyon, with cliffs rising up to 70 metres (230 ft). You will feel its powerful presence as you approach the waterfall and take in its stunning visuals and intriguing history. Gullfoss River is fed by the Hvítá River, or White River, which originates from the Langjökull Glacier.
The remarkable crater lake, Kerið, is another popular attraction on Iceland’s Golden Circle route, famous for its greenish lake water and colorful crater formations on its slopes. Kerið crater was formed approximately 3,000 years ago during a volcanic eruption when the volcanic chamber collapsed after the burning magma was exhausted. It is shaped like a perfect inverted cone and a path has been built so that visitors can view the site. As a bonus, Kerið crater has been a popular concert venue for many years!
The highlight of the day is your time at the Blue Lagoon, or ‘Bláa Lónið’ in Icelandic. This wonder is famous for its milky blue waters that are rich in silica, algae, salt and other minerals with great healing benefits for the skin, including preventing premature aging.
A rewarding adventure to explore the beautifully designed surroundings, sometimes you can even see the Northern Lights in the winter sky at the Blue Lagoon. Since the opening of the lagoon area in 1987, the therapeutic reputation of the Blue Lagoon has spread worldwide and attracts millions of visitors.
You will be dropped off at the place where you were picked up that morning. This concludes a day full of impressions and experiences that have introduced you to the real Iceland.
